HSI is a small woman-owned global health consulting business that provides technical support for strengthening health systems and for health system reform. Our expertise includes health finance, economic analysis, decentralized capacity building, policy reform, performance evaluation and monitoring. Our work in disease specific programs includes HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.
We apply processes and tools in partnership with host country stakeholders ensuring that results are useful for decision makers in both central and local government roles. HSI is a well established USAID small business subcontractor having worked with Chemonics, PATH, URC, IntraHealth, and John Snow Inc. HSI has experience as a prime contractor with PATH, DFID, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Jamaica Healthy Lifestyles
Jamaica’s Solution to Youth Lifestyles and Empowerment (JA-STYLE) was a four year USAID funded project that was completed in 2009. The project supported the Jamaican Ministry of Health in implementing its Healthy Lifestyle Policy with programs focused on youth between the ages of 10 and 19. HSI, in partnership with URC, provided policy reform and M&E technical support.
Health Systems Strengthening: Global Fund Application Guidebook and HR Policy Costing Tool now Available
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to aid country coordinating mechanisms, Global Fund proposal-writing teams, and decision-makers at all levels to tackle the complex Global Fund Health System Strengthening (HSS) proposal process for human resources.
It supports the Global Fund mission to promote improved country health systems by investing in human resources for health to achieve scale-up and sustainability goals in program for malaria and TB. The toolkit includes instructions and spreadsheet models to assist in writing winning HSS proposals.
Palestinian Flagship Project Awarded
HSI is a partner with Chemonics on the recently awarded $58 million Palestinian Health Sector Reform and Development Project.
The Flagship Project is a five-year initiative funded by the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID), and designed in close collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH).
The Project’s main objective is to support the MoH, select non-governmental organizations, and select educational and professional institutions in strengthening their institutional capacities and performance to support a functional, democratic Palestinian health sector able to meet its priority public health needs.
